Bio:
The Miracle Mile is where we, as a band - a group
of individuals brought together by a mutual love for
auditory expression - are from. The famed stretch
of Wilshire Boulevard that stretches from La Cienega
to La Brea has stood as a shining beacon of Southern
California culture since the spot-lit birth of Hollywood.
Southern California raised us all and made us who
we are today. From the rich to the poor, glamorous
to the bent-back suburban mother, Spanish speaking
orange vendors at bottom of the off-ramp to the high-rise
lawyers… this place is us, and we are this place.
The Miracle Mile represents all that we love about
this place - the storied history of our hometown,
the homeless men that share life's hard-learned lessons
with you, the moments when the sun gleams off the
skyscraper windows, the posters and graffiti that
line the sewer vents and scream out truth amongst
the bullshit, the museums that house years and years
of artistic expression, the El Rey and the Conga Room
and the newsstands and the security guards and the
smell of warm palm-tree nights… The Miracle
Mile also represents much of what we hate - the rows
of manikins that profess beauty to passers-by, the
Mercedes-Benz's that whiz past homeless men scrounging
through the overflowing trashcans for dinner, the
entertainment moguls that make millions by raping
art and peddling it to millions upon millions of willing
consumers, the $1.25 bottles of designer water, the
pollution in the air and on the billboards and from
the cars and from the minds of pedestrians…
